Learn how to invite team members to projects

Inviting User to Project​

  1. Open the Project
  2. Press the project setting button in the bottom of the sidebar
  3. In the "Collaborators" section add the GitHub Name of the user you want to invite then click "Add"

The GitHub account of the invited user must have a first and last name set in its profile (on GitHub: Settings -> Public profile -> Name). OPaaS takes the user's name from GitHub, so an account without a full name cannot be added to a project.

The added user will receive an email invitation and can then access the corresponding project.

warning

If the user didn't receive an email invitation, make sure you typed the GitHub name correctly.

Removing Users​

To remove a user:

  1. Find the user in the member list
  2. Click on trashcan icon
  3. Confirm the removal

The user immediately loses access.

Best Practices​

  • ✅ Make sure GitHub name of invited user is correct
  • ✅ Make sure the invited user's GitHub profile has a first and last name
  • ✅ Regularly review the member list
  • ✅ Remove inactive users
  • ✅ Document who has access
